Down by the Bay

Found these pics from a Style Wagon shoot and decided to share them with you guys.  These two beautiful white whales you see before you are a Honda Stepwagon and a Toyota Alphard.  The Stepwagon has the vented fenders, in case you didn’t know the which was which.

As with many vans in Japan, these are “VIP styled.”  Why are they styled and not just full vip vehicles?  Well when a vehicle is not traditionally bippu or vip, then they are called “styled.”  A true vip ride is a Toyota Aristo or a Nissan Cima/Q45; cars that are traditionally luxury vehicles.  Obviously vans and wagons are not luxury machines, they are people haulers, so they are referred to as “vip styled” vehicles.  It basically goes back to the stem of that particular tuning style and what each vehicle was originally intended for.  If anyone wants me to go into greater depth about vip styling, I can do a full write up on it for you guys.

Enjoy.
