Okay, well I really have nothing planned for today.  I usually write some stuff early on so I can have contingency posts when I draw a blank, but I got nothing for today.  I was in NYC and have been doing homework and schoolwork so I really haven’t had much time to get things to post about.  That and I have been trying to spend as much time with friends and family before I go back to school in July.  So yeah, I guess today will be a random post, just filled with random shit.

Random dog is Random

So, I was in the City Yesterday and the day before, visiting my eldest sister.  Fun times.  Went out and took some pics around downtown of random shit.  I got a new/used tripod so I wanted to try it out.  Turns out to be all there, which is surprising since it was going to be thrown out (New York people, wtf).  I left her place and just started walking.  First I went to South Street Seaport and took pics of the Bridges and water taxis.  While I was there I peered over the railing and saw some Asian kid passed out on the stairs below me.  I couldn’t help but snap a pic.  If he sees this, my bad dude, it was priceless.

Asian is down!

Went down to Wall Street, grabbed some grub at the World’s Fanciest McDonald’s.  I was going to ask them about sponsorship for my box, but when I asked if Ronald was in they looked at me like I had three heads and baby walrus in my pocket.  So I calmly and normally ate my chicken nuggets and left.  Walked a ways down Broadway past the Bull.  Kept walking and snapping random shit as I went.  Made my way to Battery Park.  When I got there I set up the tripod in this clearing and started snapping pics to try and create a panoramic shot later.  I moved over to where these two Jamaican dudes were playing bongos.  One guy got mad at me taking pics.  Tried to get me to stop (in a heavy Jamaican accent), f-that noise.  I just walked away, I had just had a big Dr.Pepper, I had energy to burn.  I should have kicked his bongo and ran.  Later I stopped by some bench by the Hudson and just sat for a good while.  I’m sure people thought I was in deep thought, but I was really thinking about how the Hudson was making me want to tinkle.  I got a few more shots on my walk back or should I say my, trying to retrace my steps because I had no idea where I was, trip and this is my favorite from the day.

It's so pretty

Not bad for my little Sony DSC-S85.  I am still saving up to get better equipment, but that’s tough when you’re a broke college kid with expensive hobbies.

I watched some weird ass TV yesterday too.  Saw the UEFA Champions League Finals yesterday.  That’s soccer, I never watch freaking soccer.  But for some reason I watched it.  I think it was because I had been watching like three hours of Sportscenter and I just didn’t want to change the channel, whatever.  Then I saw Time Warp and Mythbusters, always enjoyable.  But then we started watching some shit called “Housewives of New Jersey” or something like that.  At first I thought it was called, “Retards that shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce” but I was wrong, they were allowed to procreate.  My brain hurt because of that show.  One chick sounded like Rodney Dangerfield (awesome man), another chick sounded like a broken Barbie, this other chick sounded like Tony Soprano, and the others I couldn’t put my finger on it but they all sounded retarded.  I didn’t know Jersey was like that, okay I did.  That’s the rich part, I live in the not so rich part so I don’t know those people, but I still want to stab them with a dull fork.  Anyway…

Listened to music while doing homework.  A Day To Remember’s new album is freaking awesome.  Go pick it up, asap.  Went to bed at like 3am, woke up at 6am so I could catch the train back to Jersey.  Went to D&D to get a sammich, accidentally stole a guy’s muffin.  Yeah, awkward…

Got my windshield replaced today.  Took me almost a year, but I got it done.  Mainly because I have to go back for inspection like, yesterday.  Before the guy got there I took the opportunity to punch the crap out of it, for shits.  It was fun, but that shit is harder after you get a few shots in.  It’s like it got mad at me after a bit and then got stronger, like a fat kid when you taunt his cake.  Now I have a nice new windshield, only cost me $301 (FML).  At least I can see better now.  My old windshield was riddled with chips and small divets, looked like it got sandblasted.

It's broke

Yeah, try driving with that…

Whelp, that was the past couple days for me.  Told you, random shit.  Want more random?

taco meng

Seems pretty random to me!

Alto Lapin

I’m in NYC right now, chilling at my sister’s apartment.  I’m about to head on out ot snap some pics with my new tripod, woot!  Before I do, I need to post an update for you ladies and gents.

Just a clean and simple Suzuki Alto Lapin straight from J-land.

Alto Lapin

Aired out and sitting on BBS RS’s, looks good to me.  I was trying to find out what kid is on there, but I came up empty.  I like the blend with the chrome pieces on this Alto Lapin.

Equiped Stagea

Nori Yaro posted up a pretty slick Stagea sitting on Work Equips.

It has quite the nice rear.

Simple, clean, and boosted: what’s not to like?

I had a pretty packed weekend.  Went to Seaside Hieghts, NJ with my buddies on Friday, Wildwood, NJ with my mom and sister on Saturday, and Rockland Toyota show in New York on Sunday.  I’d say that that was a pretty fun weekend.  I got mad brown from being outside all weekend too and the box got like 500 extra miles on her.  I have tons f pics and some good scenic shots with the box.  I’ll post them up if anyone is interested.  Well, looking forward to another jobless week.

I’ve been wanting to post up this BBS RS equiped xB for a while now.  I finally decided to do it.

bbs sex

I really love it because it is just so different.  The owner calls it a Euro bB, awesomesauce.

bbs sex2

Custom restored BBS RS’s, painted yellow, are the biggest things that set this xB off.  It’s definitely the most visually stimulating part of this box.  The Kenstyle kit and Yakima rack definitely helps to keep the awesome flowing.

bbs sex3

Believe it or not, these started out life as 5×114.3 and are now 4×100.  He had them filled and then re-drilled, dedication.  The specs are 17×8.5 up front and 17×9.5 out back.  He also looks to be running at least -3 degrees of camber out back, sexy.

bbs sex4

Can’t argue with results.

The Phase 2 guys always have fresh rides and are always setting trends.  I have mad repect for them, their rides, and what they do.  Keep up the good work and screw the haters.

OG bB’s

The retro bB styling is nothing new.  Peoples in Japan have been doing it, pretty much since the bB was released.  And they have been doing quite a good job with it.  Some of them are really sexy.  My favourite part with some of these retro-styled bB’s is the deletion of the lip.  It makes the bB so much smoother, even though it is still so boxy.

Today I have a few retro-styled bB’s for your enjoyment.

p2 (37)

This is one of my favourite ones.  I like the whole overall theme of this bB.  Especially the Way the steelies were painted and how well they work with he colour of the box.  The spider grille is pretty cool unto itself.  I had a buddy that had a spider grille like that for his box.  It wouldn’t fit on his box though, it fit on mine and looked kind of good.  Turns out that the shop that fixed his box after his accident did a really, really bad job and the whole front end was pretty derailed.  I am unsure if he ever got it fixed, I should check on that.  Anyway, more bB’s…

p1 (86)

Simple and clean, I dig it.

p3 (38)

This one isn’t as retro-styled as the others, but I wanted to post it because it is the same Open Deck that I posted many moons ago.  It’s still looking good too.

p4 (35)

The placard there says, “bB American Style.”  It’s pretty wild how we here in the States strive to be like those in Japan, while people in Japan strive to be like us here in the states.  I really like this one because it has the Astro Van headlight setup.  I still am yet to see this done here in the States.  I think it will blow people’s minds once it happens.

p5 (33)

I love the colours on this bB.  A cream with a white, so subtle yet executed so well.  I could definitely do without the white wipers though.

p7 (26)

Another subtle and clean example.  Love the wheels, looks like American Racing wheels.

p8 (26)

And probably my favourite of all time.  I blogged about this bB a while back and have been slowly finding more pics and info on her.  Hopefully I can get enough to do a full write up on her some day.

Scooby Hotness

I was perusing through all the pics from the HellFlush meet over on NASIOC and I saw something that literally made me say, “holly shit”.  It was this wagon…

Even the ass is mean looking, I love it!

It is so awesome looking.  Everything about it just works and flows so well.

After I saw these pictures I went digging to find out more about the wagon and here is what I came up with.  He is rocking a Voltex front bumper and rear diffuser.  He is running STi Brembo brakes with a pretty aggressive 18×10 +35 Rota wheel.  Obviously he pulled and flared the fenders to fit those monsters.  A trust Ti-R catback lets the exhaust escape rapidly.

This is one gorgeous and well built wagon.  By far, one of the best Scooby Wagons I have ever seen.  I am anxiously awaiting future updates on it.

Smart Works

When the Smart Car first came around, I was on the fence about it.  I wasn’t sure if I liked it or how it would really look out in everyday life.  It took me a little while to warm up to them and their nature, but now I like them.  I don’t love them because some of their owners seem to be complete ‘tards, but for the most part it’s a great community.  They are just too tiny and awkward for me to get really excited about though, unless the have the Hyabusa swap then I can get excited little a three-year-old girl when she sees Barney (Is Barney still around?).

I did get excited when I saw this Smart Car…

…because it’s a Smart Car rocking custom Work Meisters, WOOT!  I know for some people it is rare to see a Smart in general, here in Jersey I see a few a week, so it is even rarer to see one rocking custom, sexy wheels.

Before this one, I had only seen Smart cars with stock wheels and Barabus wheels.  Now that I see one with Meisters, I feel like everyone else has to step their game up.  I like the the swagger of this Smart.

There were two Smart Cars at HIN on Saturday, a pretty nice white one and an okay looking black one.  I think the white one was rocking Barabus wheels and it looked really good.  The black one was rolling on a set of Sportmax 501′s and acting like he was big shit, poor guy.

You can see the three-lug setup for the Smart.  It’s pretty sweet how he had these made and how they look really good on this Smart.  I give him mad props for being a pioneer here, even though Meisters are a classic.

I wonder what that exhaust sounds like…

Yes, there is a super sexy Odyssey in front of the Smart, but I have yet to get more pics of it.  I believe that the same guy owns both vehicles, but I cannot confirm that.

HIN Englishtown

I have decided to do a post up today about my first time showing at an Hot Import Nights event (HIN).

Flyer for the show.

Well it took me about a week to get ready for the show.  The box was filthy from all the drives to PA and back and because she had pretty much been sitting since January.  So I spent the better part of a day cleaning her up.  I did a wash/clay/wax session.  I’m no pro detailer, but the box came out looking like a gorgeous stick of butter, soooooo smoooooth!  Then I cleaned out the interior, which is something I haven’t done in a good two years or so.  Needless to say the carpet was dirty as hell, but after a thorough vacuuming, looked almost new.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Friday night though, the pollen had left doo-doo brown stains on the paint again, grrr.  So I had to wash her again Saturday morning.

For those that don’t know, HIN wants people to put their cars in the night before the event.  I did not do this.  At an outdoor event, I am quite skeptical of the security.  So I rolled in early Saturday morning, got there at eleven in the AM.  I accidentally drove past a lot of dudes that were waiting in these two giant lines, whoops my bad.  I got in faster though.  I was with Scion VIP, so I parked in their area, which was good.  I felt like the layout of the show as kind of like a clusterfuck.  The indoor HIN’s seemed to have a semblance of organization and cars and vendors were put into a grid type format.  Here it just seemed they left enough room to get through but everything was just placed wherever there was space.  Anyway, I got there and started cleaning her up.  Took me around two hours to get her shined up again.  I know I’m not going to win anything, but I don’t want my box to look like dookie.  There was pollen flying everywhere and kept coating the cars.  After the first time, I said “f-it” and just let it sit there, too much work.

HIN E-town (87)

As it usually is the case with NJ/NY, there is a poor van and wagon scene.  This was one of the two or three good wagons there.  I forgot to snap pic of the others.

I walked around a little after cleaning and saw some of the cars before the gates opened.  There were some high caliber cars there, but there was a lot of shit and rice too.  I thought HIN was better than this.  I remember reading that primered cars, poor body work, and total rice would be turned away at the door and shot on site.  But this was not the case.  There were some really shitty cars there.  I did not take pics of them because I felt my camera would reject me for it.  But there was also drifting, FMX, BMX, and sexy ladies, so I was okay for later.

HIN E-town (65)

The Scion area was right near the FMX (Freestyle Motocross) guys, which was pretty cool.

HIN E-town (66)

You can see the looming weather above us.

It was hot as hell even though it looked as if a monsoon was looming over us.  I got a headache because of the hotness and I was also hungry as hell.  Fat kids need their nourishment.  Paid $9.50 for chicken fingers and fries, yeah I got raped a little.  The fries were crispy so that helped soften the blow a little.

HIN E-town (5)m

HIN E-town (6)

This the purpletastic piece I was working on this past week.  Sexy no?

I received a lot of good feedback about the engine cover at the show.  A lot of people really seemed to like it.  Saw a few people snap pics of it as well as the back window.

HIN E-town (78)m

I got to see a lot of people that I had only known from forums, so that was cool to finally meet them.  Saw some people’s cars that I had only seen online too.  But I also missed a few people because I was dancing around the show (literally) and I hadn’t given my number out so they couldn’t reach me.  That sucked, but I got to see a couple of them later on.

I didn’t take too many pics of the cars because I had seen a lot of them from past shows.  I did however take quite a few pics of the ladies on stage, woot.  I got the message that there were bewbies and I went to the stage.  I used the “excuse me” technique to get closer.  Just make it look like you have a friend somehwere up there and people move for you.  My buddy Sid has a pretty legit camera so he did that, but showed the cam and people moved for him.  They thought he was a pro photographer or something.

HIN E-town (102)

Jenny Chu and Jeri Lee, cannot go wrong, not at all…

HIN E-town (129)k

HIN E-town (122)

HIN E-town (133)k

I was mad impressed with the DJ’s there.  Usually i think a DJ sucks, but these guys were good.  Had me moving my fatass around.  They have the BigHindu Stamp of approval.

After the first go-go show, I pretty much chilled by the box and was messing around with friends and talking to people I had not seen in a long while.  People thought I had dropped out of the scene because I had not gone to a show or anything in a long while, but I’m here and alive.

HIN E-town (72)m

My buddy Los and Lou sexing the box.  He is not going to want this pic up here, too bad Los!

When the judge came around I tried explaining to him what the box had, but the dude really didn’t seem too interested.  I was explaining the engine to him and dude was like, “what’s on the inside?”  I’m like, “wtf dude, chill.  At least humor me here.”  I hate that.  I know I’m not going to win shit, but at least humor me dude.  Don’t make me feel like ass because i don’t have ten grand to drop into my ride.  He didn’t seem to know much about suspension.  Dude shut down once I said I have a stock audio set-up.  I personally love my stock audio.  I don’t want to change it or give thieves even more of a reason to hit the box.

There was one funny part, a model was modeling with my box.  WTF?!?!  No one ever models with my box.  I ran up to her and asked her to stay so I could snap a pic or two.  She was cute and nice.

HIN E-town (57)m

Went around to the drift competition a little later on.  Was pretty good, but dudes driving were definitely Pro Am and not Pro.  They were okay, I appreciated their effort.  I got mad annoyed at people yelling for the dudes to wreck.  Only in Jersey will you get that low class shit.  Why do you want a dude to destroy his ride?  He is driving for you guys and you want to wreck?  Messed up shit man.

HIN E-town (185)

Chris Forsberg made an appearance and totally blew those dudes out of the water.  He is freaking insane.

HIN E-town (194)

After doriftooooo, I went and chilled again.  I was chilling until i got the “bewbies” message again and we went back up to the stage.  It was the model competiton.  I didn’t take any pics because Jeri Lee and Jenny Chu had taken up all my memory card.

The final show was for like the top model or something.  It was a dance off and I was thoroughly enjoying it.

HIN E-town (207)

HIN E-town (208)

Jeri Lee and Jenny Chu can freaking dance, that’s all I have to say there.

HIN E-town (210)

The winners of the competition were actually in the order of this picture.  Jeri Lee (1), Jenny Chu (2), and the girl in the green (3).

All-in-all it was a good show.  I had mad fun even though I was dead tired afterwards.  I was surprised that the rain held off.  For like two hours we could see serious lightning off in the distance and kept getting word of severe rain, but nothing.  The drive back, I didn’t even use my wipers, lol.  I was driving fast enough that I didn’t need too (70 mph, I can’t afford tickets).  Got in at three in the AM and was stupid tired.  I crashed as soon as I got my shoes off.

Hot cars, hot girls, and good friends: what more could you want?

I will be returning you to your regularly scheduled vantastic programing tomorrow.

But Why?

About to head out for HIN Englishtown, but before I do, I owe you guys a posting.  So once again I turned to my vast archives.  I searched through some pics that were around a year old or so and found some good stuff.  But I also found a pic of an Opendeck bB that I didn’t know I had and now I wish I hadn’t seen the pic.  Usually you really want to see an Opendeck bB, but this is not the case…

Oh Noez

You first notice the wheels and the stance of this bB, which looks tight.  But the awesome is quickly negated when your eyes reach that wing.  I guess you cannot escape rice, even in the mother land.  Who puts an aluminum wing over an open space like that?  Wtf mate?  Damn crazy kids and their music…

You has box, I has box: lets be friends

Busy day today, got a lot to do and not a lot of time.  Did some painting last night, but I won’t tell anyone what I painted.  I will tell you that it’s purple, HA!  I have to clean the interior and the engine bay of the box today because they are filthy!  Northeast and PA winters took their toll on the box.  So I have a lot of work there.  I have to get the box ready fro HIN Englishtown, woot!

OoOOoOoO, new paint!  Wonder what I’m doing?!

Tossing up a pic:

I like this pic, it’s a bB meet in Japan.  I see lots of sexy boxes in this pic…
